Advocacy - Online Tutorial

There are 3 sessions included in this self-guided tutorial that provide approaches for instruction on deafblindness guidance based on Educational Service Guidelines, IEPs and how to negotiate the process to obtain the best result for a child, and an exploration of the role of parents as ambassadors for their children with deafblindess. Participants will earn 1.5 ACVREP credits or 1.5 PDPs by viewing 3 video presentations and taking an online quiz.

Upon completion of this tutorial, participants will have been provided with:

- Advice regarding IEPs and how parents can negotiate the process to obtain the best result for their child.
- Instruction on deafblindness guidance based on Educational Service Guidelines, IEPs and how to negotiate the process to obtain the best result for a child.
- A review of the role of parents as "ambassadors" on behalf of their children with deafblindess.
